Is it safe to wax your nose?

It absolutely is. We're not talking about going right up in your nose and pulling out the important hairs up there that play a role in filtration and moisture retention. We're talking about the hairs right at the entrance of your nose that poke out, causing you to look daft.

The applicators included in the Kenashii nose waxing kit are designed specifically to avoid any possibility of you removing the important hairs deep in your nose.

What is the function of Nasal Hair and Do I need it?

Nasal hair functions include filtering foreign particles from entering the nasal cavity and collecting moisture.[1] In support of the first function, the results of a 2010 study indicated that increased nasal hair density decreases development of asthma in those who have seasonal rhinitis, possibly due to an increased capacity of the hairs to filter out pollen and other allergens.[2] However it can grow far, far longer than biologically necessary leading to “chronic nasal beard”.

Kenashii applicators are designed to remove the hair around the edge of the nostril, only targeting the hairs that are easily noticed. There is still plenty of hair remaining within the nose and nasal cavity to perform the required physiological functions.

How long will the hair take to grow back?

Your nose hair will not grow back in abundance for at least 4 weeks. Although you may want to re-wax your nose after three weeks to keep it completely free from hair.

My mate Kev said you can die from plucking nose hairs is it true?

Right, Kev was probably that kid in school who told you about the pee detection dye in public pools? Yup, that's total nonsense too:

In short – NO – don't be ridiculous, you cannot die from plucking your nose hairs, any more than you can die from plucking any hair. Kenashii is designed to remove the unsightly hairs that dangle from your nostrils and repel people. There is plenty of nostril hair which is left blissfully untouched and serves the purpose of filtration.

Do nose hairs grow back thicker?

No. In fact if you wax regularly then they will grow back thinner.

Can I hurt myself while waxing my nose hairs?

If you follow the instructions carefully then no. There may be a very brief moment of pain when you pull out the wax but as long as you do it quickly then it will be relatively painless.

How many uses will I get out of one jar of nose wax?

We provide you with TWICE the wax of any other brand (currently on the market) to make sure you have enough for all of your applicators. In fact 100g of wax should be enough for at least 20 applications to each nostril, so that's like 40 applications.

Can wax break off and be left in my nose?

Our wax is specially designed not to become brittle and break off as it cools down. Make sure you leave the wax in your nose for long enough. If it is still soft to the touch around the outside then wait for another minute. In the unlikely event that any wax if left in your nose then you can re-wax it by repeating the waxing process (courage Williow) or use a pair of tweezers to pluck it out quickly along with the hairs it is attached to.
